Online Shenanigans Pt 2. -- The Flying Car
In my previous post, I showed screenshots of an SUV that picked us up online then went driving into the ocean, with no ill effect. It quickly became apparent we were dealing with a modder/hacker when this happened:
Driving on Water
Had some fun online with someone who seemed to have extraordinary driving abilities bordering on the supernatural. Of course, everyone knows Rockstar fixed all the hacks, so this must have been a glitch. Right?
GTA Online - Transformed into Objects
As more people with jailbroken consoles roam the world of GTA online, their shenanigans have continued to get weird. The other night this character was transformed into a giant bright orange ball that clipped through any vehicle you got in, and messed with the light settings at night.
GTA5 - Haircut Glitch
My brother went in for a haircut online. I suppose, rather than removing the hat, they just wait for the hair to grow through it.
GTA Online - Driverless Cars Glitch
We were driving along the other day, when we noticed the local traffic seemed to be lacking one key element:
GTA V Christmas
GTA5 - Race Track Mission Creator - Skyscraper Launch
Another track we've made in GTA-V has been the skyscraper launch, which we decided to name "Sunday Drive."
You have to put the activation zone on one of the top tiers of the buildings to make it work. Most cars actually survive the start of this race. So we decided to make things interesting by placing large propane tanks in the likely landing zones.

It seems to start out like any other race.

Wait, what?

Wat?

Oh shit

Weeeeeeeee
![]() |
Let's try that again...

Off we go
![]() |
It's raining sportscars!
![]() |
Weee! Again!

Hint: The key to winning this race is to try and *not* smash into the giant office building while upside down.

GTA-V Track Creator - Maze Bank Arena Rooftop
Rockstar has released a beta version of the online mission builder for GTA-V online. So far, you have various options to create death match arenas and race courses. The races can either be lapped events, or A-to-B point-to-point affairs. Already, people are scrambling to turn some of their favorite spots into race courses. One unexpectedly popular spot is the roof of the Maze Bank Arena in downtown Las Santos. NASCAR fans immediately realized the potential for a "Bristol" style high banked oval. Combined with the crazy selection of cars you can get in GTA-V, such a course was bound to be a popular arena to really battle it out for everyone. The added danger of smacking into a girder or flying off the arena to the ground below makes it even better.
So far, building the track has been difficult. There is a minimum distance requirement, which is judged in a straight line between checkpoints. So you have to stagger checkpoint placement in a way that makes 2-3 laps around the roof count as one "lap" for the game. Also, it's easy to miss the checkpoints if they aren't placed perfectly, because they can only be put on flat surfaces.
One good thing is you can add up to 50 objects, including concrete walls and/or fences, making racing at the track more fun/forgiving.
Check out some of the shots we took while building our own version of the course:

Check out the banking in the corners. Just don't go over the walls.

We tried fencing for the other end of the track, to stop you from flying off.

Of course, what's GTA without a consequence or two. We put an exploding propane tank at the outside of one of the corners. If you were unlucky enough... BOOM!

Well.. crap.
GTAV Club Glitch
Sometimes if you go to the club with another one of the main characters in GTAV, you can swap back and forth between the characters so much one will disappear. In this shot, Franklin is essentially invisible, and the camera is focused on Michael, though you can still ask him to leave.
GTA V Online - Trusting NPC
I'm a fairly trusting person, but I'm fairly certain if I was in yellow-glove's situation there, I'd probably do something more than stare deeply into the eyes of the armed creepy character in the hockey mask.

Can you hold on second? I almost beat this level on Candy Crush.
Messing with NPCs, and seeing how they react online is a fun way to waste time. Incidently, we've noted some of the masks online come with the unfortunate side effect of baldness. Putting them on and taking them off can help quite a bit with shaking the wanted level, but many times the hair of the character seems to be deleted until you can go in for another haircut. This seems to happen more with the full masks that cover the whole head, but even a mask like the one in this screenshot has caused this glitch.
Michael Gets Busted for Smoking
Michael decided to take a quick break in his son's room while having some stars on him. They really seem to take these minor offenses seriously in GTAV.

I swear, it's a vase!

The authorities were not in a forgiving mood.
The sequence is executed by having a high enough wanted level cops will enter your home in the game, and going to a small cutscene sequence, such as drinking, or watching something. The Police will often patiently wait until you are done, brandishing their weapons but holding fire. It can create some pretty funny moments in-game if you time it right.
